At least four people have been shot and are severely injured after gunmen opened fire on mourners at Kasoa Odupong Ofaakor in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

Police sources say the suspects opened fire around 7:00 pm Saturday when the Asafo companies and Baamuhene of Odupong Ofaakor were performing their final rituals for the burial of the late Akyeamehene of the Palace, Nai Kojo Amoashie (ii) known in private life as Emmanuel Armah Abbey Larbi.

15 of the gunmen have been arrested and are in custody of the Kasoa Divisional police command.
