President Akufo-Addo and former President Mahama

Former President John Mahama has called on President Akufo-Addo to address ways to mitigate the economic impact of the coronavirus on the country.

Addressing the nation through  Facebook live video, Mr Mahama said, this is not the time for words but action.

“What the President failed to address is the economic impacts of the pandemic on the country.

“We see all over the world how some government have made the bold economic decisions of making known the impact of the virus on their economy how it intend to protect it, so we expect the President of Ghana to respond rapidly to same,” he stated.

He added, “I, therefore, call on the President to publish his plans to protect the economy including the possibility of making comprehensive statement in Parliament about the destruction of convid-19 on the economy.”

Mr Mahama also charged the President to present a comprehensive budget statement to Parliament on what the country is doing in supporting businesses.

The former President again called for the provision of isolated centres across regional basis so that a patient would not have to be transported to Accra for treatment.
