The latest suspected Coronavirus case at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has tested negative, officials of the Ghana Health Service have confirmed.

A US-based woman who reported to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital with symptoms of the deadly coronavirus was quarantined.

The Teaching Hospital in a statement said the woman has been to countries where the deadly virus has been recorded.

“She reported yesterday at the Maternity Block and was admitted for gynecological procedure and in the process, it was detected that she had a high-grade fever.

“She is in a single room at the 6th floor of the Maternity Block, staff who attend to her have been given personal protective equipment. She has been reviewed this morning and is fairly stable,” the statement said.

So far, all the over 40 suspected cases that have been registered in Ghana came out negative after tests.
