The Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly has inaugrated an emergency response team to help contain the dreaded Covid 19 virus.

The committee which is chaired by the MCE for the are has the following as members: municipal coordinating director, municipal health, education, environment, finance and NADMO directors.

Others are municipal information, director, social welfare development officers and an assistant director.

Amongst their plan is to work with the Red Cross Society. The Red Cross Society will provide five staff in addition to 3 from the Assembly to be trained for contact tracing.

The Assembly in addition, will embark on following activities: Sensitization in lorry stations and markets in the Municipality, provision of Veronica buckets and soap at strategic locations such as markets and prisons.

Nadmo and environment directors will enforce house to house inspection to ensure cleanliness.

Also, included in the strategies are the acquisition and provision of infrared thermometer guns and protective clothing.

The thermometers will be used at the municipality and prisons to screen clients and visitors.

The committee resolved to carry out their plan without delay.
