The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Shirley Ayorkor Botchway has said she is out of the incubation period for coronavirus after coming into contact with an individual with the virus.

Responding to a question from Starr News’ Parliamentary Affairs Correspondent Ibrahim Alhassan at a news conference where three Ghanaians were confirmed to have died from the deadly coronavirus, the Minister said: “I didn’t have to Isolate myself.”

“No, I didn’t have to, because I wasn’t in any areas that at the time had many cases that required me to isolate myself. In any case, even if I was close to anywhere close to somebody, and I know what you are driving at, somebody who had the virus and the pictures making rounds and today is 21 days and so I’m out of that frame ‘to self isolate myself’,” she responded when asked to clarify her that point.

Ghana has so far confirmed 7 cases of coronavirus.

Globally, reported cases have reached 205,642 cases while recording 8,272 deaths, according to www.worldometers.info, a web portal that keeps track of confirmed coronavirus and its associated deaths and recovery.

A total of 82,889 have so far recovered from the virus, according to the web portal.
