President of the National House of Chiefs Togbe Afede has donated pieces of face masks, hand sanitizers and GHC100,000 to help the covid-19 fight in the Volta region.

It comes as government appeals to corporate bodies and individuals to help curb the spread of the deadly virus.

Meanwhile, Public policy analyst Selorm Branttie who has taken the initiative to raise funds and materials on social media for frontline workers in Ghana’s Covid-19 fight has appealed to the public to support his drive with anything they can.

According to him, the danger the virus poses to health workers is real and the responsibility of providing personal protection equipment cannot be left for government alone.

“We all must do something to help. A lot of support has come in but there is still more to be done. We have received items from people of different backgrounds and we are encouraged that together we can all make meaningful contributions in critical times like this,” he told Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Thursday.

Meanwhile, one more person has died of coronavirus in Ghana bringing the total number of recorded deaths from the virus to three.

The deceased, according to Starrfm.com.gh sources, is a wife of a Rear Admiral in the Ghana Armed forces. She died at the isolation centre at the 37 military hospital in Accra Wednesday.

The latest death comes as Ghana’s COVID-19 cases jumped to 68 as at Wednesday, March 25, according to the Ghana Health Service has announced.
