Dr. Michael Kyeremateng, a specialist in homeopathic medicine at C4C Homeopathic Hospital has urged the government of Ghana to adopt the use of Homeopathy medicine to prevent Coronavirus in the country.

According to him, this method has been adopted by India and has proven to be effective.

The novel coronavirus has killed more than 3,800 people and infected over 110,000, with the majority being in China.

India’s government has promoted pseudoscientific homeopathic practices in its effort to prevent the spread of the mysterious coronavirus.

India is currently among the countries dealing with cases of the virus, dubbed 2019-nCoV.

Other countries including U.S, Canada, Japan, Australia, and South Korea are also battling with the outbreak.

The Indian government’s Ministry of AYUSH, which promotes alternative medicine systems in the country, released a health advisory on January 29 that advocates the use of homeopathy and traditional remedies such as Indian systems of medicine to ward off coronavirus infections.

While AYUSH cites centuries of practitioners’ experiences with these products as evidence behind its advice, the media and the scientific community criticised the guidance as being counterproductive in dealing with a serious health emergency.

But Ghanaian health practitioner, Dr Michael Kyeremanteng believes that the use of Homeopathy medicine by the government of Ghana will go a long way to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

According to Dr. Kyeremanteng, a graduate of the College Of Practical Homeopathy with Licentiate in Homeopathic Medicine from London in the United Kingdom, the step taken by the Indian government is worth emulating and it is the best way to prevent Coronavirus from spreading.
