The Member of Parliament for Abirem Constituency John Osei Frimpong has donated items worth GHC100,000 to the various health centers in the area to augment the fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The items included gun thermometers, hand sanitizers, nose masks, liquid soaps, tissues, waste baskets, veronica buckets, among others.

Although the items were handed over to the Abirem Government Hospital, other health centers and market centers in the area will benefit from it.

Receiving the items, the District Health Director Thomas Azurago expressed appreciation to the Abirem Legislature for his contributions towards combating the pandemic.

He said, they will ensure all the items are distributed to the various health centers and make good use of them as well.

Mr Azurago used the opportunity to educate the public on compliance with the directives in order to be control the spread of the virus.

On his part, John Osei Frimpong indicated that the coronavirus outbreak had forced him to return to the Constituency saying “its not too long I came here to donate some useful materials to the Hospital.”

According to him, we cannot only depend on government only as far as the fight against coronavirus is concerned adding that it was also an individual responsibility.

He said “being the representative of the Constituents in Parliament, there is the need to support the fight against COVID-19, the reason for the donations.”
