The Founder of Rabito Clinic, a private health facility, Professor Edmund Mwinyem Delle with the help of some sons and daughters of Nandom have donated some PPE’s and public address system to several institutions including opinion leaders in the Nandom Municipality worth thousands of Ghana Cedis.

The items which include 103 Veronica buckets, 34 boxes of carbolic soap, 10 gallons of liquid soap, 24 mini gallons of surface sanitizer, 90 pieces of mini bottle hand sanitizer, 10 pieces of jumbo tissue paper, a public address system and some drugs is to support the municipality in the fight against COVID 19.

The Founder also donated ten bags of 50kg rice and ten gallons of 5-litre oil to heads of the royal families.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Founder of Rabito Clinic, Reverend Dr Stephen Koya said, COVID-19 is real, radical and it is no respecter of creed, religion, appearance, culture, tradition, race, ethnicity, nationality, political or socio-economic state or status.

Dr. Koya added that the donation is non-partisan, non-religious and non-aligned but rather a gesture to show concern and solidarity, philanthropism, leadership and accountable stewardship and giving back to the Chiefs and people of Nandom time.

The Nandom Municipal Coordinating Director, Esther Abaching who received the donations on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive Thaddeus Aasoglenang expressed her gratitude and assured the donor of putting the items to good use.

She indicated that the public health emergency committee has held series of meetings to draw a plan to enable the municipality to contain and stop the spread of the coronavirus and noted that the items will go a long way to assist us to roll out the programme.

The Nandom Municipal Director of Health Services, Genevieve Yiripare on her part thanked the donors for showing concern regarding the health of the people.

She said the support received will go a long way to complement what is being done by some individuals and assured that the items will be put to good use and appealed to many more sons and daughters of Nandom and other philanthropists to come to their aid.

The donations were benefited by the Gbulu Chiir Royal family, St Theresa’s Hospital, Nandom Divisional Chiefs, All CHPS Compounds in the Municipality, Nandom Parish, Nandom Police, the Islam community as well as the various tribe chiefs in the area.

The Upper West region has recorded eight cases of the deadly coronavirus with no single death.
