St.Mary’s Day Care Preparatory School in Koforidua has donated food items, toiletries and medication worth Ghc10,000.00 to the Koforidua Prisons.

The items include large sacks of beans, gari and salt, gallons of palm oil, caked soap, washing soap, boxes of disinfectants,medication, among others.

The donation is a perennial exercise the revered private school extends to less endowed schools, Institutions and vulnerable groups in society as part of its Corporate Social responsibility.

The Director of St.Mary’s Day Care Preparatory School Miriam Ofusu Appiah believes the items donated to the Koforidua Prisons would help alleviate the plight of the inmates particularly when Ghana is battling to contain the spread of coronavirus.

“We brought these items to help alleviate the plight of prisoners because we keep hearing that the amount that government allocates for feeding and for the upkeep of Prisoners is not enough so we decided to also bring our windows mite to help alleviate some of their problems.We believe it would go a long way to feed and care for them especially those who are sick”.

Management of the Prison facility thanked the School for the kind gesture and assured that it would be used for the intended purpose to enhance the quality of Service to the inmates.
