Renowned International Commentator Jon Champion has touted Ghanaian player Latif Blessing as the next big act on the football scene.

Blessing was a key figure of the Los Angeles FC Team that won the Western Conference of the MLS last year. The former Liberty Professionals winger scored six goals and assisted six times in the 34 games he featured for Bob Bradley’s side.

Champion, ESPN’s Lead Commentator in the MLS, in an interview with Kofi Mensah on Empire FM’s Sports World disclosed he’d been left in awe of Blessing’s talent and would not be surprised to find him playing in one of Europe’s top sides in the coming years.

“There is a young Ghanaian player who’s caught my eye in the MLS at the moment and his name is Latif Blessing. I think he’s got a very good potential of having a brilliant career in Europe. I really enjoy watching Blessing ” He said.

Latif who started his career as a winger has now been converted to a box-to-box midfielder and according to Jon Champion, the Ghanaian is a midfield powerhouse.

“There’s nothing off about him. He came to the MLS from Liberty Professionals and played out as a winger and did okay. However, currently, he’s been converted into a box-to-box midfielder and he’s doing amazing stuff there”, Champion added.

“He is a dynamo, full of energy and provides the drive for what is a very good team in LAFC. For me, Latif Blessing was the standout player [in that side] last season. At his age, 23, he’s got so much promise ahead of him and I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get a move to Europe soon”

The MLS is currently on hold as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.
