The Ghana National Sports Authority has given the green light for non-contact sports to resume in the country. This was contained in a release by the nation’s sports authority sighted by StarrFM Sports.

This follows the announcement by President Akuffo Addo on the easing of restrictions on public gatherings in view of the Corona Virus pandemic in the country.

The release indicated that non-contact sports disciplines like Athletics, Tennis, Golf, Table Tennis amongst others can resume in Ghana whiles other contact sports like Football, however, remain suspended until after July.

This directive is seen as a big blow to the Ghana Football Association who were hoping to get a clearance for football activities to resume in Ghana.

The Ghana Football Association has in recent times tried to convince Government to allow the Ghana Premier League to resume after it presented it’s Covid-19 safety guidelines for the resumption of the league to Government.
