Some heavily built men popularly known as mach-omen have had their activities aborted by the police in the region after they attempted preventing delegates from voting at the Nyame Bekyere polling center of the Kwesimintim constituency in the Western Region.

The men are believed to have been brought from Accra to prevent people from voting.

Empire FMs’s Emmanuel Ohene-Gyan reports that though the ongoing NPP primaries been relatively peaceful in about four constituencies that he visited, there have been exceptional cases.

One of the incidents was  a delegate who was arrested at the Effia Constituency in the region for taking a picture of his ballot in the ongoing primaries of the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Ohene-Gyan reported on  Starr Election Hub “about an hour ago, we were told that some macho men were preventing people from approaching poling centers at Nyame Bekyere and some other polling centers. The district commander together with the Regional MTTD Commander Chief Superintendent Richard Appiah moved in quickly to abort the attempt.

It as not been ascertained as yet who these men were contracted by.

Generally, the NPP primaries have been peaceful throughout the country.
