Private Christ-based school Nona Graceland School has inaugurated a new ultra-modern classroom block as part of their 5th anniversary celebrations.

The school, which until the launch of it’s new block had operated from crèche to KG2 at it’s former block, sought to make room to increase intake in order to continue with their vision of raising Godly and excellent leaders for global transformation.

The new block, located at Okpoi Gonno within the Ledzorkuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) is built with the child in mind.

A statement by the school describes it as one that has “a modern-day look, spacious rooms and accurate lighting and furniture arrangement makes it stand out within the community in which it is situated.”

The Ground floor has a mini playground to facilitate play during school hours, a visitor’s lounge, an administrative office and the Lower Crèche (A Modern Baby Room). It also has male and female washrooms suitable for children and adults and a store room.

The first Floor, named after Pastor Fredoline Newton for his dedicated contribution to the school has rooms for an ICT Lab, KG1 and KG2, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3. It also houses a Staff Lounge and the office of the CEO.

Additionally it has a power room where all network connections are centralized and additional washrooms also suitable for children and adults.

Addressing the attendees, the CEO of the school, Mrs. Comfort Tetteh Nanor indicated that the opening of Nona Graceland School’s new block is not just good news for the staff and students but also, it is great news for extended targets who live across Accra, Ghana and West Africa.

“This is because the opening of the new block positions us better to continue to deliver our objective of growing this institution beyond borders, raising Godly, Excellent Leaders to transform our continent,” she added.

Post COVID 19 Readiness

Speaking on the school’s readiness to resume academic activities when a green light is given by the Government, Mrs. Nanor indicated that the Management of the School has thus far heeded the directives of GES pertaining to how schools activities should be. Also, the Management of the school has organized training sessions for all Staff in order to equip each Staff member with adequate information about protocols for COVID 19.

Additionally, adequate reusable face masks, hand sanitizers and other necessary PPEs have been procured in addition to what will be provided from GES. Ahead of the opening of the new block, the Management of the School in collaboration with the Private Division of GES (LEKMA) and Zoomlion Ghana Limited fumigated both the old and new sites.

Mrs. Nanor added that the school will continue to operate smaller class sizes in the spacious class rooms to enable enough distancing during school hours. These and other necessary measures have been put in place in order to curb possible spread

Building an ICT Based School.

The next major step on the plans of the Management of Nona Graceland School is to stock and open an ultra-modern ICT center at the same block to facilitate teaching and learning of ICT from the basic level, as an extra-curricular activity.

Speaking to the Media, the CEO, Mrs. Comfort Tetteh Nanor reiterated the need to expose the children to basic computing skills to enable them compete rightly across the globe. “Nona Graceland School will work with individuals and partner companies to stock our ICT Lab with the very best for our children” she added.
