The Municipal Chief Executive for the Keta Municipal Assembly, Edudzi Godwin Yao Effah, has cut sod for the commencement of work on three different projects under the Coastal Development Authority – an authority with focus on the development of communities along the coastal belt.

The three projects which include a 20-seater water closet toilet facility at the cost of Gh¢364,266 at Kedzikope, a 6-unit classroom block facility at Sasieme at the cost of Gh¢591,188.59 and a 22 meter concrete footbridge over the Agorvinu river at the cost of Gh¢475,000 would be funded by the one-million Dollars per constituency allocation from the Ministry of Special Development.

All three projects are expected to be completed in the course of the year to fit purpose and time.

Addressing Chiefs and community folks on the projects on Wednesday, 5 August, 2020, the MCE reiterated government’s commitment to developing every nook and cranny of the country through special development focused policy interventions.

“The focus of government is to develop every nook and cranny of the country; reason why she has evolved a lot of social intervention policies that include the Planting for Food and Jobs, the One-District-One-Factory policy etcetera.”

According him, the Kedzikope toilet facility project is in line with the Assembly’s resolve to ensuring a total eradication of the canker of open defecation in communities within the municipality.

He added, also that “the commencement of these projects is a testimony that would go a long way in shaming persons who claim that the One Million Dollar per Constituency promise was another political gimmick.”

Mr. Effah stressed further that, “The NPP government has more good projects under its sleeves, it can only unfold them when we retain power,” while adding that the Keta Municipality has seen more development under NPP regimes than under any other administration.

The MCE was joined by the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the Keta constituency and the director in charge of the One-Million Dollar per constituency initiative, Dr. Benjamin Sena Dzameshie.
