The governing NPP has vowed to win all forty-seven parliamentary seats in its stronghold the Ashanti region.

The NPP currently holds forty-four seats with the remaining three – Asawase, Sekyere Afram Plains, and Ejira Sekyere – held by the opposition NDC.

At a ceremony to unveil parliamentary candidates for the 2020 elections, member of the NPP campaign team and director of operations at the jubilee house Lord Commey said candidates must work hard and eschew all forms of complacency ahead of the elections.

He said: “politics has moved even from local to personal. So, the people continue to ask you ‘what is in this thing for me?’ So, make no mistake to take anybody for granted, even our own party foot soldiers and that is why it is important that every soul should be touched, every individual should be reached. We have a message and that message is what we give to the good people of Ghana.”

“I charge you, keep your charge. You promised the party, deliver for us. And it’s not only about seats, it’s also about making sure the presidential votes is a one-touch victory.”
