A bus loaded with supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress was on Saturday involved in a gory accident at Frante, in the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipality of the Ashanti Region on Saturday.

Information gathered indicate that six people died while over 50 other members have sustained various degrees of injuries.

The supporters, Starrfm.com.gh has gathered were traveling to Ejura to meet the party’s Flagbearer, John Mahama who is on a campaign tour in the region.

The accident reportedly happened when the bus conveying the supporters was crossed by a motorcycle resulting in the driver losing control of the truck.

The deceased have been conveyed to the Ejura Government Hospital Morgue while the badly injured are receiving treatment.

In a statement, the Ashanti Regional Secretariat said “the NDC regrets to announce the unfortunate death of some members of the Party in the Ejura- Sekyedumase Constituency in a Motor Accident on Saturday 21st November 2020.

“This unfortunate incident occurred prior to the Campaign visit of H.E. John Mahama to the Constituency. H.E. John Mahama has visited the injured at the Ejura Government Hospital to assess their conditions.

“We commiserate with the Families of those who have lost their lives and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
