The Ashanti regional first Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Nsenkyire is allegedly mobilizing some aggrieved coordinators of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the region to protest against the Director-General Nana Agyemang Prempeh.
The planned protest is expected to be held after the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo.
According to Ultimate news, Mr Nsenkyire who is also the Ashanti regional Coordinator of NADMO has not received his official imprest allocated to his office for a number years to facilitate the smooth running of his office.
Other sources from the organizations have also disclosed five other district coordinators including Atta Adusei Kakyire of Asante Bekwai, Nana Asare Bediako of Bosome Freho and Sekyere Kumawu district Coordinator among three others have also not been paid since appointed into office by the government for over three years.
In the case of the Sekyere Kumawu coordinator, he is reported to have campaigned against the choice of the NADMO Boss’ preferred parliamentary aspirant in the party’s Parliamentary primaries hence alleged deliberate decision to sabotage his work by the Chief accountant of the organization to hold on to his monthly imprest through a supposed directive of the NADMO director-general.
Kwabena Nsenkyire in response to the supposed planned protest against the Director-General of NADMO said, he has already reported his concern on the deliberate delay of releasing his office imprest to Madama Akosua Fremah Opare Addo the Chief of Staff at the presidency.
“In my case, for almost a year I haven’t been paid a single monthly imprest but I’m kicking and doing my work. It’s rather unfortunate for the director-general to decide not to facilitate payment of my imprest,” he bemoaned.
He, however, denied mobilizing the aggrieved members of the organization to demonstrate against Nana Agyemang Prempeh who is the director-general of NADMO.
