The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has named the General Secretary of the main opposition NDC party, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia as one of the Six members that constitute the Parliamentary Service Board of Ghana.

The Parliamentary Service Board is the highest body that makes all and final decisions with respect to how Parliament of Ghana and workers within do their work, be it salaries, allowances, developmental projects and how the Parliament should be run.

The Speaker of Parliament named the Six members that constitute the Parliamentary Service Board just about 8:10 pm on Monday 29 March 2021, as follows:

1: Hon Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu,

Member of Parliament for Suame and Majority leader

2: Hon Haruna Iddrisu

Member of Parliament for Tamale South and minority leader

3: Mr Abraham Osei Aidoo

Former member of Parliament and former majority leader of Parliament

4: Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia

Former member of Parliament and General Secretary of the main opposition NDC party

5: Clerk of Parliament and finally,

6: The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament

According to Mr Bagbin, the decision for constituting this Parliamentary Service Board was based on advice he received from the advisory committee of Parliament which the Constitution of Ghana and the Standing orders of Parliament mandates them to assist the Speaker with advice whenever there is the need to constitute a new Parliamentary Service Board.
