The District Chief Executive of Amansie South in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Clement Opoku Gyamfi has met with the relatives of the four-member family who were burnt to death at Manso-Aponapon to sympathize with them after a recent fire outbreak in the community.

Together with the district assembly executives, the DCE presented a cash amount and other relief items to the family of the victims and consoled them on their loss.


It will be recalled that the family of four, comprising a 48-year-old Kofi Owusu and his pregnant wife, 32, Esther Cobbina as well as their two children, 9 year-old Sarah Owusu and 5 year-old Kwadwo Awuah were burnt beyond recognition after fire ravaged their house Saturday night.

The fire reportedly started at about 11:30 pm and spread through the eight-bedroom house when all occupants were fast asleep.


Other four inhabitants of the house escaped death but sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the St. Martin’s Hospital at Agroyesum.
