Aggrieved Chiefs and Residents of Awutu Larbie in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region have poured libation in the hope of ending water crisis in the area.

They believe pouring of the libations with Schnapps will enable the gods and their ancestors to provide them water.

According to the aggrieved residents and the Chiefs of the area, they have no access to potable drinking water.

They explain that this causes them to wake up as early as 3:00 am and walk far distances from the community in search of water which poses danger to their lives.

The aggrieved residents, therefore, appealed to the District Chief Executive for the area Stephen Kwame Quaye to as a matter of urgency come to their aid.

Chief of Awutu Larbie Nenyi Kwoa Amo II speaking to Kasapa FM’s Yaw Boagyan also expressed his grievances about the water crisis in his community.

He also appealed to the DCE for the area to assist them.

He accused the government of neglect after several campaign promises during the election.

The Chiefs and residents lamented during the community’s communal labor organized by the Chiefs and residents to dig holes and pour the libation.

The DCE told Yaw Boagyan via phone call that unless he hears the problem personally from the Chief and Elders, he cannot respond to their calls.
