Lawmaker for the Kpando constituency, Dela Sowah, has begun the distribution of some 2,000 street lights to schools, churches, and other recognized groups across the constituency.

The project dubbed ‘Light of the World’ is to ensure that all major streets in the constituency have street lights so as to provide proper visibility at night throughout the constituency.

Under the project, each of all 150 churches in the Kpando Municipality would receive six (6) of the street lights.

So far, churches including Winners Chapel, Assemblies of God, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Global Evangelical Church, Eternal Life Church, Narrow Gate among others have received the lights during a visit the MP made to these churches on Sunday.

Speaking to the media, the MP said, “this initiative forms part of my thank you tour as I visit these groups to thank them for voting for me again to represent them in parliament but most especially, it is meant to ensure that every corner of the Municipality is lightened up even in the darkest moments.”

Apart from the churches, other religious bodies including mosques in the Municipality and other recognized institutions and schools are expected to receive the street lights.

She added that “I believe once we have these lights fixed, it will improve upon our security needs by providing visibility throughout the constituency.”

As part of the tour, the MP is also visiting some school projects among others to observe the progress of work on these projects.
