Former Director at the Winneba sports college Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah has urged Ghana’s sports minister Mustafa Usif not to bother in reviving the Winneba sports college.  His comment comes in the wake of Starr Sports report on the sorry state of the facility which was constructed in 1984. The sports minister had reacted to the story indicating that he will reveal his plans for the facility at the appropriate time.

The edifice has been converted into a Guest House and a hostel due to the Government’s neglect of the facility over the years. It has over the period not seen any renovation works hence losing its relevance. But Dr. Emmnauel Owusu Ansah who left the place as a director in 1989 says reviving the Winneba sports college by the sports minister will take half of his energy.

“If the Minister wants to occupy himself reviving the facility, then I am wondering the people that he will contract to put out the project proposal for him. I feel he should leave that project and not waste his time on it” Dr. Owusu Ansah told Starr Sports
