Former Chairman of the Ghana Athletics Association George Haldane Lutterodt says successive sports ministers failed because of their over concentration on the Black Stars.

His comments come in the wake of government’s pledge to cushion the Black Stars with 25 million dollars for them to win next year’s AFCON and also get a semifinal berth at the world cup in Qatar.

Speaking to Starr Sports the former GAA boss insists past and present sports ministers have not learnt lessons from getting themselves so much involved in Black Stars related issues at the ministry which has caused their downfall over the years.

“Many African countries just don’t rely on the national football teams alone for glory, Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, and several countries in the world you see them developing other sports but that it not the case in Ghana”

“But with Ghana it’s not even football per say but it’s just one thing, the Black Stars and you see ministers have come and gone and all had scandals and issues related to black stars “he concluded.
