The Member of Parliament (MP) for Shai Osudoku constituency in the Greater Accra region Hon. Linda Ocloo has paid a total of Ghc250,000 school fees of 30 tertiary students in her Constituency.

Most of the students were fresh students who had gained admission to various tertiary institutions but were struggling to pay their admission fees and risked being rejected.

The lawmaker observed that, the economic hardship in the country has rendered many parents financially incapacitated therefore the continuous financial support to poor and needy students.

“This is not the first time I am doing this, I have been doing it since I became MP to create opportunities for the brilliant but needy students . I use part of the MPs common fund and sometimes my personal funds. We don’t discriminate. The program is apolitical because everyone deserves support “.

According to the MP, education is her priority because of its potence to fight the quagmire of poverty.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the timely intervention .

“I am happy about it. she has really helped us. some of us were not expecting it though but she has helped . I’m surprised about it because actually I was expecting it “.
