The founder of Power Chapel World Wide Reverend Kusi Boateng says God was the first to perform In vitro fertilisation (IVF) with circumstances surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ.

According to the Bible, Mary, the mother of Jesus, was impregnated by the Holy Spirit without any sexual intercourse.

Speaking to Nana Aba Anamoah on Starr Chat Wednesday, Rev Boateng, who is also the Secretary to the board of trustees for the National Cathedral said he does support IVFs and will encourage his members to undergo such processes if they will give them the solutions they require.

“I support IVF because God himself was the first to perform an IVF. If you look at how Mary was impregnated with the Holy Spirit without a sperm, it’s a pure case of an IVF. If you look at the DNA of Jesus you will not find anything about Mary. That’s an IVF”.

In vitro fertilisation is a process of fertilisation where an egg is combined with sperm in vitro. The process involves monitoring and stimulating a person’s ovulatory process, removing an ovum or ova from their ovaries and letting sperm fertilise them in a culture medium in a laboratory.

IVF is a type of assisted reproductive technology used for infertility treatment and gestational surrogacy. A fertilised egg may be implanted into a surrogate’s uterus, and the resulting child is genetically unrelated to the surrogate. Some countries have banned or otherwise regulate the availability of IVF treatment, giving rise to fertility tourism. Restrictions on the availability of IVF include costs and age, in order for a person to carry a healthy pregnancy to term.
