The Ghana Football Association has launched the maiden edition of the Division one Super cup to help offer newly promoted sides to fine tune their teams ahead do the new Ghana Premier League season in October.

Real Tammale United, Bibiani Gold Stars and Accra Lions will be joined by Skyy FC, Tema Youth, Bofoakwa Tano and Berekum Arsenal to honor the competition on September 19 at the Ghanaman soccer of excellence at Prampram.

Speaking at the launch of the event at the GFA secretariat, Vice President of the Ghana FA, and Chairman of the Organising committee of the tournament, Mark Addo said the competition will offer the newly promoted Premier league clubs the opportunity to fine tune their sides before the new season begins.

“It’s a great initiative which we believe will go a long way to indeed help the newly promoted clubs to prepare well for the Ghana premier league which starts in October ”

The 8 teams to play in the competition are the various champions in the three zones of the league, the second placed teams and the second best finishers.

The Division one league Super cup will be televised live on Max TV, the sole television company that placed a bid for the broadcasting rights.
