Nii Lante Vanderpuye, a former Sports Minister, has slammed the current Black Stars technical team, which is led by C. K. Akornor.
After a lackluster effort in a 1:0 win over Ethiopia on Friday, Ghana was defeated 1-0 by South Africa in a FIFA World Cup qualifier on Monday.
The bad results, combined with lackluster performances in prior games, have cast doubt on Akonnor’s future.
According to Nii Lante Vanderpuye in an interview with Starr FM, the Black Stars’ problem extends to the technical staff, not just Akonnor, and he would have fired them all if he had been the GFA boss.
”In the middle of a World Cup Qualifying series isn’t the ideal time to change a coach,” he told Starr FM.
“But I’m radical. If I was the GFA Boss, I’d sack the entire technical team, not Akonnor alone,” he added.
Ghana is currently behind South Africa who lead the World Cup qualifying group on four(4) points with three(3) points and next play against Zimbabwe in October.
