Hundreds of Commuters plying the Abrepo Junction to Barekese road in the Ashanti Region are left stranded for hours after a 30 minutes downpour.

The rain which started around 5am left many parts of the area flooded.

The stranded commuters include school children, traders, teachers, nurses among others, who had closed from work and could not cross to their destinations due to the heavy floods that blocked the Barekese road.

Ultimate News observed that many of the commuters who could not return decided to seek shelter in shops by the roadside as the rain drizzles.

some who could not also risk through the flooded bridge to their destinations stood helplessly and watched the floodwaters.

Some of the Commuters blame successive governments for their inability to properly construct the Attafoa bridge to contain the large water that flows through the bridge.

They say the situation has become perennial as the area continuously floods after every heavy downpour.

They are therefore calling on the Bantama Member of Parliament Hon Asenso Boakye, and for that matter, the government to come to their aid.
