Some Members of Parliament from the Volta Region have demanded an apology from President Akufo-Addo for calling the bluff of the Aflao chief over an uncompleted School building in his area.

Torgbui Adzonu-Gaga Amenya Fiti has given government a four-month ultimatum to complete the abandoned community day school in his area.

But President Akufo-Addo has challenged the ultimatum, asking the chief to continue the projects if he feels frustrated.

Ketu South MP Dzifa Abla Gomashie in a Facebook post described President Akufo-Addo’s comments as unwarranted.

Speaking to Naa Dedei Tettey on Starr Today, the lawmaker intimated, “if it is a jest, well it’s not even funny, if he said it in jest I don’t find it funny at all because I feel as if he ridiculed the paramount chief, and it is not acceptable. What the Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti said was about the people of Aflao benefitting from the free SHS.”

“Is the President not interested in making sure that the national cake is shared equally? And if there is a portion of this country that is not benefiting from that policy, should the people just keep quiet? Why couldn’t he also take it in good faith, is Torgbui Adzonugaga not our paramount chief for the late former President Rawlings’ time. It is in his place to demand national cake for his people, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.”

She added that “We all at one point in our lives do make mistakes, and when we do them and we have a retrospection, we should be able to come back to say I think I was wrong for this one.”
