With their qualification to the big stage in Qatar now an impossibility, Ethiopia will host Ghana at the Orlando stadium in Johannesburg today.

The Black Stars are in search of their third consecutive victory to keep their hopes alive for a possible qualification to the mundial.

The Black Stars are second in Group G with nine points behind South Africa who have 10 points. A Thomas Partey goal in the 31st minute gave Ghana a hard fought win against Zimbabwe in their last outing in Harare.

However, the quarter finalists in the 2010 World Cup would have to win against Ethiopia and later against South Africa to make it to the next stage of the qualifiers.

In their last encounter with the Wylias of Ethiopia, the Stars narrowly won 1-0 at the Cape Coast sports stadium.

The Black Stars will be missing the service of Thomas Partey who has scored in their last two games in the qualifiers. Columbus Crew defender, Jonathan Mensah will also miss the game together with striker Benjamin Tetteh.

Wubetu Abate’s men also sit third on the log with just three points. In their last outing, an own goal from Getaneh Kebede gave South Africa three points at the First National Bank in Johannesburg.

Ethiopia will be hoping to put up a great show against the Stars before they head to Zimbabwe three days later.

Ethiopia will have the services of Gebremichael, Nassir, Kedebe and Yohannes.
