Award-winning dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has launched a new ride-hailing app, Shaxi to create employment.

The App was launched on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in Accra.

According to the “Freedom” hitmaker, Shaxi, an acronym for Shatta Taxi, is an initiative aimed at providing jobs for the youth in various communities

“Everybody knows I love the youth of Ghana and I always want to see them do well. I want to see the boys and girls in the ghettos move from being unemployed to having gainful employment,’’ he said.

Shaxi becomes the latest ride-hailing application and it is already charting at number two on the apple play store with a 4.3 rating.

The artiste added that his motives for setting up the business are not for profit-making but intends to make an impact and leaving a mark.

‘’Shaxi is not for Shatta Wale and friends, it’s a Ghanaian project for Ghanaians. So let’s all embrace it and make it happen,’’ he added.

Shatta Wale in a tweet Wednesday said he believes in women empowerment and is looking forward to having lots of female drivers use the new app.

The launch was attended by renowned Ghanaian media personalities like Bola Ray, Nana Aba Anamoah, Serwaa Amihere and other industry players like Bull God, Kwame A-Plus, Shatta’s father, Medikal, Fella Makafui and others.
