The Kaase Inland port cocoa carries in Kumasi are on an indefinite sit down strike over poor condition of service.

According to the protesting cocoa carriers, management of cocoa the marketing company (CMC) have for the past five years failed to pay their SSNIT contributions associated despite the poor wage paid them.

The development, they say, has compelled them to stage the protest against the management.

The strike which has entered day three today is across all cocobod inland ports across the country.

Speaking to EIB’s news Ashanti regional correspondent Isaac Justice Bediako, Raymond Abobiga said his colleagues will only call off their three days old strike if their demands are met by increasing the offloading fee of a bag of cocoa from sixty two pesewas to one cedi.
