Legon Cities striker Hans Kwofie stole the headlines at the Baba Yara Stadium today as he got himself involved in all goals for his side in a 3-1 victory over league leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The Royals hit the ground running at the blast of the whistle with some dangerous attacking runs before winning a penalty in the 16th minute. Hans Kwofie found Jonah Attuquaye who swiftly went down on account of Christopher Nettey’s close pressure.

Michael Otou grabbed the opportunity and converted it to put Legon Cities in front.

While the Porcupines tried to restore parity with some few attacking runs, Hans Kwofie pinched them again with another brilliant run to double the lead. He started a great attack and located Nasiru on the left flank, who had all the time to send in a diligent cross which found Hans Kwofie again.

The striker easily finished that of in the far post which left the defense of Kotoko clueless.

Mudasiru made an instant impact from the bench as he was Introduced in the 35th minute at the expense of Dickson Afoakwa. The midfielder pulled one back for the hosts seven minutes after he stepped foot on the pitch.

However, Hans Kwofie seemed to have had an unfinished mission with the league leaders as he was found at the end of Jonah Attuquaye’s cross in just a couple of minutes after the break to make it 3-1.

Prosper Ogum attempted to change the story when he effected three straight changes.

Asmah, Keyekeh and Adomako replaced Imoro, Mfuege and Nettey in a bid to at least get a consolation but it all proved futile.

The defeat means Kotoko have been defeated back to back for the first time this season.
