The 2022 edition of the Calcio Trade Ball has been launched at a very colourful ceremony in Accra under the theme “Stop Player Exploitation; Save Football”.

The media lauch was witnessed by dignitaries including Ghana’s Minister of Youth Sports, Mustapha Ussif, the Italian Ambassador to Ghana, Daniela d’Orlandi and General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo, Board member of Hearts of Oak, Frank nelson Nwokolo amongst others in attendance.

The Calcio Trade Ball is an annual event organized by Arthur Legacy and its CEO and player agent Oliver Arthur and brings together Ghanaian players with links to Italian football as well as the Italian community in Ghana.

This year’s event will have in addition to the usual classic awards night, an All-Star football match between Ghana XI and Africa XI. there will also be a seminar for upcoming and already established footballers on players’ exploitation and how the menace can be stopped in the country.

The Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif at the eevent spoke on the relationship between Ghana and Italy and thanked Oliver Arthur for relaunching the Calcio Trade Ball after a four-year absence.

The Italian Ambassador to Ghana, Daniela d’Orlandi on her part touched on the relationship between the countries and her commitment to the theme to help footballers reach their potential.

The GFA General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo finally addressed the media stating his outfit’s support for the project and his excitement to see the Calcio Trade Ball make a return.
