SC Freiburg has secured the services of Black Stars midfielder Daniel Kofi-Kyereh for four years with a fee believed to be around EUR 4.5 million, the club has announced.

The player who was linked to Werder Bremen, VfB Stuttgart, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Union Berlin and Besiktas Istanbul has finally committed his future to the German outfit which presents him an opportunity to play in the UEFA Europa League next season.

The 26 year old was involved in 22 goals (12 goals, 10 assists) for his former club, St. Pauli. Thus 36 percent of the clubs total number of goals.

Daniel Kofi Kyereh expressed his long term admiration for the Freiburg.

“I’m impressed by the way SC Freiburg play, the way they have developed and the club as a whole. That’s why I was completely convinced in my decision to come here and be part of this team – I’m really excited for the coming season in both the Bundesliga and the Europa League.”

Freiburg becomes his fourth club in Germany after having stints with TSV Havelse, Wehen Wiesbaden before joining St. Pauli exactly two years ago.
