Division One League, Zone 2 champions, FC Samartex 1996, have begun preparations for life in the Premier League with renovations on their home stadium, Samartex Park.

The Division One League Zone 2 Champions will be making their debut amongst Ghana’s elites in the 2022-23 Season and are keen on meeting the Club Licensing Specifications in order not to risk playing away from home.

Paul Anyaba, Business Development Manager for the Team told Starr FM Sports the ongoing works will be completed before the start of the new season.

“The primary focus of this project is to make our facility club licensing compliant.” – Paul Anyaba stated

“Stepping up from the Division One to the Premier League there are certain standards we’ll need to meet and that’s what we’re working on”

“We’re redeveloping our pitch for it to become better than it was last season. We’re also erecting new stands and expanding the seating areas so that we can have a capacity of nearly about 7,000-seater for next season” – He concluded.

The 2022-23 Ghana Premier League season will commence on Friday 9th September, 2022.
