Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, Group Head of Corporate Affairs at the Tobinco Group, has emerged new President of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) following an election on Friday.

Mr Dwumfour garnered 233 votes beating two other candidates for the position. Second placed Gayheart Mensah had 181 votes.

Former General Secretary of the Association and Editor of the Ghanaian Times newspaper Dave Agbenu, managed to acquire 143 votes.

The GJA is the umbrella body for journalist in Ghana.
