There is good news for Ghanaians who are yet to have their SIM Cards re-registered as the Minister for Communications Ursula Owusu has “reluctantly” extended the deadline to September 30, 2022.

Scores of Ghanaians in the last week have been apprehensive following their inability to have their SIM cards re-registered with their respective telecom provider.

Speaking at the ‘meet the press’ on Sunday, the Minister said due to several challenges being encountered, she has reluctantly agreed to extend the process till September this year.

According to her, “upon consultation with the industry and in view of the challenges enumerated above, I have very reluctantly decided to grant a final conditional extension”.

“The program will be extended to 30th September to end with the anniversary of its commencement. That will give one full year of SIM registration,” she stressed.
