President Akufo-Addo has suspended the District Chief Executive for Bosome Freho District Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Yaw Danso over his alleged involvement in illegal mining.
A letter dated 14th October signed by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Dan Botwe said the suspension which takes immediate effect is to allow for investigation into the claims.
A viral audio implicated the Chief Executive in illegal mining activities which led to some assembly members calling on President Akufo-Addo to investigate the matter.
President Akufo-Addo speaking when he met MMDCEs last week said Danso had been invited to defend himself against the charges.
