The Minority in Parliament has dismissed the purported endorsement of the candidature of Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah by the caucus for the chairmanship position of the party.

The so-called endorsement was announced by Deputy Whip Ahmed Ibrahim at the launch of the election campaign of Mr Asiedu Nketiah.

But the minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu in a statement maintained that the claim that the NDC caucus in Parliament was supporting Mr. Nketiah was untrue.

It said the leadership of the Caucus never met on the matter “and have not taken any decision on the matter.”

It also added that the Caucus has not met and has not taken any decision on any of the candidates contesting any position within the Party.

“the Leadership and the Caucus has no position on any of the candidates vying for the respective positions in the Party.”

The Minority also said the Banda MP, has since apologised to the NDC Caucus for his comments.

“We accordingly urge our rank and file and the public to disregard the purported statement made during the launch,” the statement said.
