The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has resigned from the Akufo-Addo-led government.
He submitted his resignation to President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, during a meeting with the latter at the Jubilee House.
It is believed the move is to enable the Minister properly focus on his Presidential ambition.
Dr. Afriyie Akoto’s resignation comes on the back of Trade Minister, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen’s resignation from the government last week to also allow him to focus on his presidential ambition.
Other party bigwigs who have announced their intent to contest the New Patriotic Party(NPP) Flagbeareship slot include Mr. Boagye Agyarko, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, Mr. Kwabena Agyapong, and Mr Joe Ghartey.
