President Akufo-Addo has asked the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, to act as caretaker Minister at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, until a substantive appointment is made.

President Akufo-Addo gave the directive after accepting the resignation of the Trade Minister, Alan Kyerematen on Thursday, a statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin said.

It is believed that Mr Alan Kyeremanten took the decision to resign to enable him properly focus on his presidential ambition.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has thanked Mr. Kyerematen for his services to his government and to the country and wished him well in his future endeavours.
