The Member of Parliament for Nanton, Mohammed Hardi Tuferi has been involved in an accident prior to vote on the government’s revenue bills currently under consideration by Parliament.

It unclear how and where the accident happened. 

The injured lawmaker on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party despite the accident was brought to Parliament in an ambulance to report to the leadership of the House and later rushed to the hospital.

There are currently three new revenue bills laid before Parliament for consideration to enable  government secure more revenue to rescue the crisis hit economy.

The three new taxes include Income: the Growth and Sustainability Levy Bill, Tax (Amendment) Bill, Excise Duty and Excise Tax Stamp (Amendment) Bills.
