In fresh twist, Dr Kwabena Duffuor injuncts timetable to hold primaries this weekend.
The countdown to presidential primaries of the major opposition party, the National Democratic Congress is coming with all the thrills and trappings of the now rested Game of Thrones series.

Dr Kwabena Duffuor says the NDC voters register must be sacrosanct and must be pruned to suit all.

This is a party that must use the Dr Kwabena Duffuor register protest as a test case for the NDC party. The NDC for two consecutive times have proven to the Court that they have had data problems in 2016 and in 2020 where the party found itself wanting at the Supreme Court especially the collation of results in the national elections.

So I believe that what Dr. Kwabena Duffuor is asking for is a credibility test for the NDC party in its own internal voting process before the national elections. Looking at statements made by the current Chairman of the party Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia who testified at the Supreme Court election petition case hence the need for the party to take issues raised by Dr Kwabena Duffuor very seriously especially when females become males in the party with an incomplete voter registration data.

Like in a high-stake football match of two top teams, where each side keeps an eye on the opposition’s tactics, The John Mahama camp, continuing in its deft political maneuvering, yesterday, tinkered with insults by cyber bullies and rascals because of a court injunction that is likely to affect their schedule activities and likely to fix a new date for its presidential and all other primary elections.

This is also a test case because as a political party, it is not one man’s decision; it has to be a collective decision. Dr Kwabena Duffuor is a seasoned politician, who has a track record of assimilating different views and somebody who knows the job, we believe that at the end of the day, there will be no cause for alarm and the right thing will be done.

All attempts to make former President John Mahama a consensus candidate by arrangement in choosing the standard-bearer of the party, has not worked.

Delegates are ready to get rid of the ‘Born to Rule’ tag by not ceding the presidency to John Mahama in 2024. All Dr Kwabena Duffuor wants is equity, justice and fairness to prevail in the party.
