Over 15 road construction machines have been deployed in various communities in the Assin North Constituency as the by-elections approaches.

The machines which were said to have been sent to the constituency soon after the court annuled the election of James Gyakye Quayson as Member of Parliament for the area, are busily constructing deplorable roads in the communities.

Some residents in the Assin North Constituency in an interview with EIB Network Central Regional Correspondent, Yaw Boagyan, condemned the government as they believe the move is intended to get them to vote for the governing party during the upcoming by-election.

They say they have already taken their decision as to whom they will vote for, adding they are not fools for the government to wait till election before constructing their deplorable roads for them.

According to them, they have written several letters and demonstrated asking the government to come and construct their deplorable roads, but nothing was heard until now that the by-election is approaching.

The Electoral Commission has fixed 27th June 2023 to hold the Assin North by-election.
