Dancehall King, Shatta Wale has revealed his next studio album will be produced by Nigeria’s Bankulli.
The On God hit maker made this known during an interview on Takoradi based Empire Fm.
“I’m working on my Konnect album; I am shooting videos from the album which is being produced by Bankulli from Nigeria”
Charles Nii Armah as known in private circles has kept his fans drooling for an album since the anticipated, ‘Gift of God’ album was never released.
In 2022 he halted production of the ‘Gift of God’ citing challenges with some features on the tape. However , he, later released the Maali album in March 2023, which came as a surprise to many.
Shatta Wale Speaking on ShowBiz Today on Empire Fm noted that the first single of the album will be released on October 18, 2023 to culminate his birthday celebration,” I am doing some content for all the songs I’m about to release, the first single will come out on October 18, that is after my birthday and I’m going to have a listening party on the 20th here in London.”
The mention of Bankulli on this project has gingered more expectation, as the music talent, has garnered for himself years exploits in the Nigerian music space ,Afrobeats in entirety and on the international level.
Born ,Abisagboola Oluseun John ,Bankulli, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, artiste manager and AnR executive. He helped build Mo’Hits Records, one of Africa’s biggest record labels.
Bankulli subsequently managed D’Banj’s solo career for a while.
Bankulli has also worked with artists and producers from Nigeria, the US and the UK. He worked on the collaborative studio project “Watch The Throne”, created by hip-hop moguls Kanye West and Jay-Z. He also worked on Kanye’s sixth studio album ‘Yeezus’. He was involved in Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift album in 2019, which was eventually nominated for a Grammy award. He recently produced a 7-part series titled The Chronicles of Afrobeats.
