Scores of commuters plying Agona Nkwanta to Takoradi for the past two days have to endure great stress to reach their various destinations as traffic along the Ewusiejoe to Bokro stretch of road is greatly impeded by 2 broken down heavy vehicles .
According to commuters, the 2 heavy duty vehicles with registration numbers from Cote d’Ivoire have broken down at Ewusiejoe close to Wayoe Engineering for the past 3 days.
The blockade is as result of large potholes on the road which have further deteriorated due to recent rains.
Drivers and residents have for long clamored for some remedial solution, all to no avail.
Travelers have been left stranded with no available option as duty bearers look on helplessly.
Others commuting to nearby areas are made to continue their journey by foot upon reaching the location.
It is feared that the blockade could greatly impact economic activities since the road is the major linking route to other parts of the Western Region, Western North Region, as well as Ivory Coast.
Already some cross border vehicles have been caught up in the blockade.
Empire news gathers the police have moved to the location to redirect traffic, which hardly provides any major relief due to the poor nature of the road.
