The Wa West Member of Parliament and a member of the Committee that probed the leaked tape, Peter Lanchene Toobu has stated that in as much the Committee’s report has been delayed they do not want to do shoddy work.

The Former Commissioner of Police George Alex Mensah has once again accused the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akufo-Addo Dampare of allegedly paying delegates to vote against him in the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the governing NPP.

COP rtd. George Alex Mensah was caught on a leaked tape plotting with two other senior officers and former NPP Northern Regional Chairman Bugri Naabu to get Dampare removed as IGP.

A leaked report of the committee circulated on social media has cleared the IGP of all allegations and indicted the senior police officers recommending further investigations and prosecution.

According to the parliamentary candidate hopeful for Bekwai in the Ashanti region, there are rumors that the Inspector General of Police is allegedly paying delegates to vote against him.

Speaking on Starr Today with Joshua Kodjo Mensah, the lawmaker stated that the public expression of how interested they are in the work of the Committee is justified.

“I think that I side with the public we’ve delayed a bit, I personally feel that we should have signed this off long ago. But you know, as a Committee there are a lot of legalities and a lot of things to clear so that when the report comes out it can stand the test of time.

“We’ve our own reputation at stake and I am quite convinced that with the Chairman Honorable Atta Akyea in charge and Vice Chairman Honorable James Agalga all of us putting our heads together we want to do a good job. Because many years to come people will go into the archives and refer to this report and we don’t want to do shoddy work,” Mr. Toobu stated.
