Nine (9) members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) from the Ejisu Constituency in the Ashanti region have picked nomination forms to contest for the upcoming Ejisu NPP parliamentary primaries.
The party opened nomination from 2nd to 4th April 2024 for members in good standing to pick and file nomination forms for vetting on Saturday 6th April 2024.
At the close of business at the party’s office in Ejisu, 7 persons picked nomination amidst drumming, singing, and dancing by the various supporters.
The aspirants are; Portia Acheampong, Klinsman Karikari Mensah, Abena Pokuaaa Amoah, Kwasi Nyantakyi, Dr. Evans Dua, Helena Mensah, and Lawyer Kwabena Boateng.
On Wednesday at noon, two more people including Aaron Prince Duah and Maame Yaw Aboagye picked nomination forms increasing the number of applicants to 9 while two more people are expected to also pick their nomination forms today.
The picking and filing of nominations according to the Vetting Committee Chairman, Danquah Smith Buttey will end on Thursday 4th April followed by vetting on Saturday 6th April 2024.
The fate of the 14 applicants seeking to represent the Ejisu constituency in parliament currently depends on 100,68 delegates in the constituency.
